We bridge the gap of miscommunication between dog owners and their pets. We create an environment in which the dog loves to learn, engage and is motivated to practice the thousands of repetitions it takes to produce muscle memory, reflex response and conditioned behaviors. We empower the dog to be in control of their own consequences, through clear communication and balanced training

Maddie Austin grew up being an animal lover and any opportunity she had to interact with one, she did. Maddie got started in the dog community in 2013 when she took her personal pet to a local trainer wanting to learn basic obedience and discovered the trainer’s focus was working dogs.
Her personal dog became a human remains detection dog and the rest is history. During this time frame, she was also employed with a veterinary office as a tech assistant and kennel manager. As her time working with her
personal dog ended, she shifted her focus and started working with Training Canines LLC, which focused on puppy developmental learning and behaviors for two years. When she met her husband, Aaron Austin, they worked as a team to foster dogs that needed medical attention and were able to rehabilitate them so they could be adopted.
While getting her bachelor’s degree in criminology and minoring in American Sign Language at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she reached out to the university’s police department and began volunteering with their K9 Unit. It was during this time that she was introduced into law enforcement and found a new passion. Once she graduated from college, she became a police officer in 2017 and is still in service today. In 2020 she achieved her goal and was selected as a K9 handler for the department.
Maddie is well connected within the dog community and is committed to learning as much as possible to be a well-rounded trainer. She is passionate about dog behavior and enjoys utilizing modern training techniques to set your dog up for success. Not only does she want your dog to be empowered by quality training, but she wants owners to feel confident that they can be the best they can be for the pets.
